Brayer Hill
Bubba, Ret., is out of a Tennessee Walking mare by Eagle Rest Red Monarch.
Although, Bubba never inherited his dam's running walk, he proved to
be athletic in western and English disciplines, especially reining.
He stands 15.2 hands belongs to Jim Joling of Brayer Hill Farm.
Bubba has appeared in Italian magazines, Western Horseman,
Australian videos and is the recipient of the ADMS Versatility Hall
of Fame. He is shown and ridden for pleasure. A few of his
accomplishments include 1995 Houston Livestock Show Grand Champion
Halter Mule and 1995 Great Celebration Mule Show High Point Mule. In
addition, Bubba has been used by the Dallas Mounted Police in their
parade at the State Fair of Texas and ridden by the Cassocks of the
Ringling Bros Circus.
Bubba has
been successfully shown, not only against mules, but against horses
in Hunter, Hunter Hack, Reining, Trail, Horsemanship and Halter. He
has placed in Reining in both Open and Amateur classes at the
Horse-A-Rama and the Southwest Spring Classic Open Horse Show in
Fort Worth, TX. At the Southwest Classic Open Horse Show, he
also placed fourth in Halter against 36 gelding horses. Bubba owes a
lot to his trainer Dennis Lee of Paradise, Texas. He is the first
mule that Dennis, a performance horse trainer, ever worked with. The
duo keeps the horses on their toes at the Open Reining classes
In spite of
the fact the Bubba has been shown so successfully, he is just as
happy on trail rides and camping. Because of his kind and
exceptional temperament, Bubba has proven himself in inspiring
confidence in even the most timid riders. He also made special
friends with an autistic youngster who later went on to participate
in Therapeutic Horsemanship after gaining trust in her new found
long eared buddy. Bubba is the first mule imprinted and raised at
Brayer Hill Farm. We feel that he is the best example of the modern
saddle mule our farm wants to promote and good example what can be
done with mules bred from quality jacks and mares. |
